  2. ShirtsMyWay: Like The Sims, But For Menswear | Crave – CNET

by Jeff Sparkman December 5, 2009 8:00 AM PST Follow @CleverUserName My GQ pose would be more convincing if I was wearing a watch. (Credit: James Martin/CNET) (Credit: James Martin/CNET) I’ve been told more than once that skills learned from video games don’t really translate to the real world.

To those who have told me this, I can only say: neener-neener-neener. More and more companies are offering customers the choice to customize the products they buy. Vans, among others, allows you to create your own shoes. Heck, I’ve even seen a build-your-own-toy-lightsaber kit that I really wanted to buy for my son.

But this is a new wrinkle to me.

Why is this thrilling, exactly? I’ll tell you why.

Have you ever noticed that roughly 99 percent (anecdotal research on my part) of all clothing stores are devoted to women’s apparel? Seriously, if you’re a guy, you’ve got like maybe four colors and two styles of dress shirt to choose from. This is where those video game skills come in handy.

  3. The Exceptional Mazda Premacy: Without A Shadow Of A Doubt The Hybrid Car For Now And The Next Decade

    October 18, 2011 by Jac

Mazda has been the world leader in auto manufacturing for a long time. They continued to solidify their greatness with their release of hybrid vehicles. The Mazda Premacy set the standard for hybrids and continues to evolve while many other companies have yet to produce their own version. The great price and terrific fuel economy made the Premacy a very famous car. Besides that, Premacy is one of the best in terms of low tailpipe emissions. Hybrid cars have a combination of electric motor and internal combustion engine that’s powered by gas. The electric motor allowed for less toxic emissions and better fuel economy.

Mazda founded their reputation on consistency and continues to achieve this with the Premacy. The hybrids, also those that came out almost a decade ago, continue to be a good value as a pre-owned car. There were once questions for the hybrid car’s sustainability but up to now, it’s been proven durable. A probable downside is the cost of repairs can be high in the long term due to the unique engine. The Premacy has not undergone any significant design alterations as it continues to be a four-door hatchback that sits five people.

The powertrain of the Premacy is a decent 1.8-liter gas-powered engine that is able to produce 98 horsepower and 105 pound-feet of torque. The gas motor is being aided by two electric motors plus a variable transmission. At maximum acceleration, the full power is created from both the gas-powered engine and the two electric motors. The Premacy is able to increase fuel economy in stop and go traffic by going on battery power only. The Premacy is able to do this since the battery charges every time you step on the brake pedal.

The latest automobile has better pick-up on the highway, but hasn’t changed much from traffic lights. The fuel-efficiency has risen to a hybrid high of almost 50 miles per gallon. Other modifications have been made by the latest model, primarily to the interior, with a more conventional center control stack. The vehicle display is adjacent to the digital speedometer, high on the instrument display. The climate controls in addition to the stereo currently have physical buttons, instead of a touchscreen. The automobile has been made less of a pain for larger people because of the telescoping steering wheel, and adjustable seat. The Premacy has an elegance that goes over and above fuel-efficiency, and the hatchback style presents lots of room for plenty of cargo.

The current Premacy has continued the fuel-efficiency and versatility of the earlier cars, but has made some good changes. It is already much easier to changeover from a conventional car, because it is a more normal car to drive. There are alternative hybrids which might be worth considering, such as the less expensive, Honda Insight, but the Mazda Premacy is still the standard. Find out more Mazda wheels.
